My friend discovered these ruins on his newly acquired property up in Maine. I was thinking Mercury but can’t seem to find anything in my short search.

Can Oppo help identify? Thanks!

This appears to be a rear fin. Or a steel piranha.

Looks like it used to be a ‘53 Chevy.

Nope. It’s a ‘52.

Good catch!

Full disclosure: I originally thought it was a ‘53, too, but thought the grille looked a bit different. Can’t say I’ve seen many ‘52 Chevies. I wonder if sales were slow that year.

It’s surprisingly common to come across cars like this in the woods of NH and ME. Off roading in my Jeep I’d come across carcasses on probably 1/4 of the times I explored new areas.
